Beth Behrs is the eldest daughter of David Behrs and Maureen Bahrs. Her father is a college administrator, while her mother is a first-grade teacher. Her sister Emily Jeannette Behrs is six years younger than her and is her only sibling.

At the age of four, her family moved to Springfield, Virginia. Later they moved to Lynchburg Virginia. She was raised in these two cities and it is while she was there that her acting talent begun to show.

Early Life And Education

In 1989, after they moved to Virginia with her family, she began performing plays in the theater. She later joined E.C. Glass High School. At the age of 15, she once again moved and changed residence. This time they went to Marin County in California with her family.

They settled just outside San Francisco, which was convenient for her pursuit of education. In 2001, Beth started attending Tamalpais High School where she was accepted into a highly regarded drama club and program at the school. She graduated from the school in 2004.

After high school, she joined the American Conservatory Theater based in San Francisco for musical studies. Here, she was classically educated as a singer. She performed in a musical known as Dangling Conversations: Music of Simon and Garfunkel. During this period, Beth Behrs also played in A Bright Room Called Day, and in Korczak’s Children.

When she later moved to LA in 2004, she enrolled for acting classes at the UCLA School of Theater, where she also studied Film and Television. This is the school that helped shape her as a full grown actress. During her time as a student here, she began to play bigger roles in more prominent plays.

For instance, she played Sandy Dumbrowski in a play known as Grease at Ray of Light Theater in San Francisco. In 2008 she graduated with a bachelor’s degree and earned a scholarship to further her musical career.

As a writer, she has written a few books and articles that are worth mentioning here. Her contribution to the writing world is not easy to ignore. For instance, she has co-created the young-adult webcomic known as ‘Dents’ with one of her best childhood friends Matt Doyle.

The comic is inspired by Marvel’s X-men comics. It explores themes such as feminism, sexuality and several environmental issues. In May 2017, she also realeased a book titled ‘The Total Me-Tox:

By the time Beth graduated from UCLA School of Theater in 2008, she had auditioned for bigger roles lots of times and had performed in tons of important plays and musicals. So in 2009, she landed her very first film role in ‘American Pie Presents: The Book of Love’, a teen comedy that is seventh in the famous American Pie series.

In 2010 she tried her hand in television, and had a guest appearance in an episode of ‘NCIS: Los Angeles’. She also appeared on ABC’s ‘Castle’ and ‘Pretty Tough’.

In 2011, she also starred in Adventure of Serial Buddies where she played alongside big names such as Kathie Lee Gifford, Artie Lange, and Christopher Lloyd. Then she auditioned seven times for ‘2 Broke Girls’, a CBS sitcom in which she landed a lead role and stars alongside Kat Dennings.

In this American series, she plays Caroline Wesbox Channing. That was the role that made her a real star and it earned her respect internationally as an actress. She featured on all the six seasons before the series was canceled. In 2013, Behrs landed another role in ‘It’s a Brad, Brad World’.
