Inuyasha Character Ages

Inuyasha Character Ages Explained

Inuyasha Character Ages Explained

Inuyasha

Inuyasha

Starting from the main character. Inuyasha was born of a human mother and a dog-demon father. You must have seen that he was under Kikyo’s spell for 50 years, being unharmed and unaged.

As he was a demon, he could be aged hundred of years. But to give him an age equivalent to human age, I think he might be 16/17 years.

His look and features were like this age. That’s why we can assume him to be 16/17, surely.

Kagome

KagomeKagome was a kind-hearted girl and also a brave one. It is seen that at the beginning of the series, Kagome was a fifteen-year-old junior high school student.

She has the Shikon jewel within her. A Shikon jewel which is in some parts of the series more talked about than the characters. Kagome has the Shikon jewel hidden within her body unknowingly until her fifteenth birthday.

So it is clearly expressed in the series that kagome was aged 15. Here no guessing is needed to conclude.

Miroku

Miroku

Miroku, the traveling monk, was busy robbing his rich clients and asking almost every woman to give him his heir to proceed with his family rituals and to continue his journey if he died without defeating Naraku.

He used to attack his enemies with his sutra scroll and khakkhara though his greatest weapon was the wind tunnel embedded in his right-hand palm.

There again, a guessing game works as his age is not mentioned or can not be calculated.

As far as I think, he might be aged 19/20. At least his features ensure him to be in his low-twenty.

Sango

Sango

Sango, a demon slayer, was described by her father as the best exterminator of their village, where it was the main profession.

She used hiraikotsu as her weapon, a human-sized boomerang made of purified demon bones which she threw with her immense strength while battling.

Sango might be aged 16-18 as she looked.

As we also saw in the series, she hated Miroku first but later got married to him. And they seem to have little age gap as a couple.

Shippo

Shippo

Shippo, a young orphan boy, is trying to steal the jewel from Inuyasha and kagome to get power and take revenge for his father’s death.

Though he later happened to be on a team with Kagome and Inuyasha. He had no special attacking power but helped them escaping or searching aid with his courage.

He seemed to be a boy aged only 7 to 8 years old.

Kikyo

Kikyo

Kikyo, a powerful priestess who already lived fifty years before the event that was shown in the series.

Kikyo has the power to guard and purify the Shikon jewel. By the incidents preceding, Kikyo fall in love with Inuyasha and thought of turning him into a complete human by the jewel.

If you exclude that 50 year death period, then she might be at her mid-twenty. I think she was 21 years aged.

Kohaku

Kohaku

Kohaku was sango’s younger brother and a demon exterminator like his family.

It is seen that Naraku tricked him and his family into slaying a false demon on Kohaku’s first day of the job, then controlled him with a spider web and made him kill all the other exterminators, though his brother sango got saved with sheer luck just.

Kohaku seemed a boy is aging 11-13 years. And it correlates with his sister’s age also.

Kaede

Kaede

Kaede was Kikyo’s younger sister who helped her collect herbs, hold a quiver of arrows, and do many other tasks. After Kikyo’s death, Kaede became a strong priestess and protected the village from the demons.

The villagers and the Inuyasha group trusted and listened to her on spiritual thoughts. They respected her.

It was seen on the series that 50 years ago, in an incident, Kikyo got dead, and Kaede got injured on one eye. So my intuition says that she might be aged less than 60.

Rin

Rin

Rin was an orphan girl who got mute due to shock after witnessing his families’ death. She found Sesshomaru under a tree in a wounded state and started taking care of it.

During that time, she got killed by wolves during a raid at her village. Sesshomaru revived her using tenseiga. And after this, Rin started to talk too.

The series shows Rin as a 7-year-old girl.

Koga

Koga

Koga, the younger leader of the eastern wolf demon tribe. At the beginning of the series, Koga was an opponent of Inuyasha, soon became a friend to kagome due to her kindness and friendly behavior.

As he is also a demon, he could be of any age, counting up to more than hundreds. But in equivalent to human, he was around 16/17 years aged.

Naraku

Naraku

Before Inuyasha was sealed, Naraku was created from onium. So Naraku should be 50 years old. But Naraku’s age could be said 23 when he took kagewaki’s form.

Then there are other characters like-

Sesshomaru: might be aged around 19, equivalent to human age. However, it’s hard to match as it was also a demon.

Jaken: being a demon, he should also be right up there, same with Sesshomaru, 19 years aged.
